Eating food from copper utensils is a custom in traditional India. Copper utensils are believed to bring good health to the owner along with prosperity. The beaten texture of the copper makes the piece look magnificent . The interior of the bowl has been layered with kalai. Kalai is a special silver metal coating done on the inside to enhance the usage of the bowl. Sour products can also be served in this bowl like curds or tamarinds/soups.The bowl is lacquered externally for easy use.
